"Tsuki..." The young Dragon-in-Training froze. "Tsuki..." the cool male voice said again. "Come with me, Ying Tsuki."
"W-who are you?" Tsuki whispered fearfully. She looked for the source of the voice. "What do you want?"
The voice laughed softly. "I want you to join me. Become one of the Heylin." Two gleaming eyes with slit pupils appeared out of the darkness.
"N-n-n-no! I... I can't!" the girl yelled at the eyes. She gasped in fright as a large black and red dragon appeared.
The creature was very lizard-like, with a long, powerful tail, huge razor-sharp claws, and a mouthful of glistening white teeth that protruded over both lips. A row of tall red spikes ran down its back, starting at the back of its head and continuing to its tail, which ended in a mace-like ball of spikes.
The lizard-dragon took a step toward Tsuki on its raptor-like hind legs, its yellow-gold eyes locked on her. "Why not, little Tsuki?" it asked in the voice that had been calling to her.
"Be-because... I am a Xiaolin monk," she declared. The dragon laughed again and put a large clawed hand on her shoulder.
"So was I, my dear. But, as you can see, I gave that up." He smiled, revealing all of his shining teeth. "Now, do you know who I am?"
"You... remind me... of someone..." Tsuki thought for a moment. An image of a similar lizard came to mind. It was very similar to the black and red one before her, but it had light brown-ish green and black scales, and its spikes didn't go all the way from its head to its tail...
Then, the image changed. She pictured a man, around twenty-five years old. He had long black hair that fell to his waist and a single strand of hair falling in his face from a widow's peak. He had strange brown-ish orange, slit pupil eyes and wore clothing like a Japanese samurai crossed with a Chinese general...
"You remind me of Chase Young," Tsuki decided. The creature in front of her closed his eyes and nodded.
"Ahh... Chase Young. Yes, he and I are acquaintances." The dragon chuckled quietly. "Didn't your master ever tell you about the great Tao Twins?"
"The... Tao Twins?" Tsuki asked. "No... Master Fung never mentioned them..."
"It's a shame, really. He should have told you all about me, since you are a Dragon of Darkness, too." With eyes narrowed, the lizard spoke in an egotistical tone. "I am Ying Youhei, the most powerful Dragon of Darkness to ever exist."
"Ying Youhei? But he lived fifteen hundred years ago! How can you be him?"
Youhei spoke softly. "How else?" He gestured at his dragonish form. "I am immortal. I sold my soul for the Lao Mei Lon Soup, and you will, too."
Tsuki's eyes opened wide. "No... No, I won't!" She spread her arms out and bent forward slightly at the waist. "Moon Eclipse - DARK!" She ran at Youhei, throwing a barrage of punches and kicks at him.
"No, that won't work." Youhei held out a scaled hand and Tsuki froze in mid-attack. The hand clenched into a tight fist, and the girl dropped to a relaxed standing position. "Remember, my dear little Dragon, you will join us, and it will be much sooner than you think."
Suddenly, a gentle female voice rang through the darkness. "...Ki? ...Suki! Tsuki! Wake up."
---
"Tsuki, you have to wake up! Now!" Tsuki's emerald eyes snapped open. She sat up and brushed her raven black hair away from her face.
"Mahi-chan? Is that you?" Tsuki asked sleepily. She threw the blanket off of her sleeping mat and stood up. She was wearing a black spaghetti-strap tank top and black capris as pajamas. The top said "I put the FUN in FUNERAL" in red writing and the pants had a pattern of little skulls with random bones here and there.
"Yeah, that was me. You were having a divination dream, weren't you?" a quiet voice answered. A brown haired girl stepped into Tsuki's room. Her sky blue eyes were filled with concern.
Tsuki sighed. "Yeah... and it was so weird. Hey, Mahiru, have you ever heard of the Tao Twins?"
Yang Mahiru tugged at one of the straps on her white tank top. It had a winged heart on it, and barely stopped short of covering her white heart-print pajama pants. "Nope. Never. Why do you ask?"
"Oh... No reason. Just something I thought of. The name sounded familiar, but I could've imagined it or something."
"Alright, then. Hey, the others should be waking up soon, so don't go back to sleep or anything, 'kay, Tsu-chan?" Mahiru started back to her own room.
"'Kay, Hi-chan," Tsuki replied. She folded her blanket and laid it on her sleeping mat. As she grabbed the traditional Xiaolin Dragon-in-Training outfit and began to get dressed for the day, she decided to forget her dream.
